Have a good World Water Day!
22.3.2012
People around the globe celebrate today United Nation’s World Water Day. The purpose is to remind about the necessity of clean water – for all life on the planet.
The forest sector has been developing different ways to reduce its environmental impacts. Even if forestry represents only a small fraction of the total environmental load caused by suspended solids and nutrients, various forestry specific-water protection methods can have a considerable positive impact on local water purity.
Tapio has long traditions in developing water protection methods and their practical implementation. This knowledge forms one of our core competences today. We carry out extensive trials on different sites and have been able to demonstrate that the nutrient and suspended solids loads can be radically reduced when using professionally designed systems. These practices may well prove to be successful also beyond forestry applications.
