TAPIO.FI: DESCRIPTION OF WEB-BASED SERVICE

www.Tapio.fi is a web-based service provided by Forestry Development Centre Tapio. Tapio attends to maintaining and developing the service. The service is aimed at the various forestry-related actors and interest groups.

The web-based service Tapio.fi is available in Finnish and Swedish language versions. The website also includes a brief presentation of Finish forestry in English and Russian.

The service is comprised of Tapio’s general presentation and web-based store via which Tapio’s publications may be ordered. The service also includes a calendar of training events enabling users to register for events organised by Tapio. Moreover, the service has an event calendar and customer bulletins.

Copyrights

Unless otherwise mentioned, copyright to the material offered in the service belongs to Tapio. The website’s text material may be freely used and copied. When doing so, the source must be mentioned. Links may be made freely to the website.

Copyright to photographs, other pictorial material and maps belongs to the photographer or author in question or to Tapio. Using the material for one’s own or commercial purposes requires prior agreement with the service’s editor-in-chief.

Liability

Tapio bears the liability for the content of the web-based service. We shall remedy any errors without delay as soon as such are noticed.

Name of register

Tapion asiakastiedotteen ja sähköisen markkinoinnin asiakasrekisteri (transl. Registration report regarding customer bulletins and electronic marketing)

Purpose of use of the register date

The register data are used for the maintenance and updating of Tapio’s customer relationships. We use the data for sending, marketing and other customer-related communications with Tapio customers. We send customer bulletins and emailed material to those customers who have indicated that these may be sent to them.

Source of data

The data contained in the register is provided by customers when they select email-based marketing either via an electronically-formatted form or when they submit their details to a member of Tapio’s staff. We also obtain data when customers update their ordering details.

Correctness of the data

We do not verify the correctness of the data. Customers may modify their data by means of emails (tapio@tapio.fi), using feedback forms available on our site or by contacting Tapio directly.

Data content of the register

www.tapio.fi web-based service’s customer register is part of Tapio’s Vineyard marketing information system, which is used for maintaining and for doing searches on customer and product data and for managing feedback data. The register has the following content:
• first name and surname
• email address
• customer’s employer data (if applicable)
• events (e.g. participation in training, ordering publications)
• inclusion on mailing lists

Divulging of data

Tapio does not divulge the data to outsiders.

Register protection

The management of the register on the part of individual customers is not protected by usernames or passwords.

The register’s user rights are granted to all persons employed by Tapio on a permanent basis as well as those with a set-term employment contact with Tapio, subject to their supervisors decision in the matter. These persons can view the register data and modify and delete them. All persons enabled to handle the register have personal user rights. Log in events can be verified based on individual usernames and passwords. Access by outsiders is prevented by appropriate means.
